What would be different millions of years ago, in the context of evolution?

We could imagine that it would be the same or we could imagine that it would be different. Either way we would be imagining things and wouldn’t know for sure.

So in your mind it's like imagining that salvation by faith alone is true?

Ephesians 2:8-9 is not imagined. Read it for yourself.

“For by grace you have been saved through faith, and that not of yourselves; it is the gift of God, not of works, lest anyone should boast.”

Well, if things would be different that would leave empirical evidence that we could measure and analyze. As it happens, natural selection is such a simple and general phenomenon there is no reason to assume it would have worked any differently a million years ago, and an overwhelmingly massive body of evidence is consistent with it always having worked in the same manner.

Or alternatively you could imagine that the scriptures are false but somehow the words of Jesus aren’t.

Natural selection has been observed to change a baboon into a human now. Oh no wait we have to imagine that since we cannot observe it now as we imagine it happened millions of years ago.

Since you're once again slow on the uptake, I'll spell it out for you.

Yours was a meaningless argument. It can be applied to anything and imparts absolutely nothing.

We have observed evidence that shows that baboons and humans share a common ancestor who lived some millions of years ago.

If that is what you are looking for that is what you will see. It could also be evidence of common design rather than common decent it all depends on how you interpret the evidence.

As it turns out, there is a lot of evidence in favour of common descent, and none in favour of "design." This is probably why the former is widely accepted in the scientific community, and the latter is not.

None? Really? I know plenty of people that would disagree.
