There is nothing in your last post even close to truth...
How would you even know?
You assert things which are demonstrably false as though they are true (one or 30 million miles away), use terms incorrectly (atmospheric), are unsure which model uses the term 'oblate spheroid,' and so forth.
On top of it, you've invoked refraction of light as the ...[text shortened]... is actually 100% true.
So the ISS has never streamed their activities over any ocean, huh?
When a satellite is up hundreds of miles high, the line of sight distance goes up thousands of miles. Is there something so esoteric about that you can't understand?
What did you do with your brain? You are so bent on thinking everything about NASA is a lie you can't think rationally any more.
Why don't you use the formula YOU already provided to find out how far a line of sight signal can go from a ground station to ISS or any other satellite a couple hundred miles high.
Once again I have a link to the near space network of NASA:
http://esc.gsfc.nasa.gov/space-communications/NEN/nen.html
Try reading this link before you next scoff session, ok?

You also haven't answered what YOU think Earth covers from the POV of the moon.
I said 2 degrees. So where is YOUR analysis of the same situation? You want to be able to prove Earth would cover half the sky if your flatasssearth crap is to be true.
You can't seem to understand if that is how things are for real, we would have figured that out 200 years ago or more, Galileo would have seen proof of that the first time he looked at the moon or the sun. For instance, sunspots would have been much easier to spot and craters on the moon would have been a lot easier to resolve. Of course none of that makes the slightest bit if difference since your MO is 'don't confuse me with facts, my mind is already made up' or whatever is LEFT of your mind after this brilliant brainwashing your flatasss buddies pulled on you. The sad part is your really think you thought all this shyte up yourself.

Have you watched the live streaming sponsored by IBM on ustreamtv?
Ever?
Pull up the most recent 100 captured videos.
Pull up ANY 100 captured videos and do the math: count how many times the recorded capture (not even including the times within the videos themselves) the screen is blue.
These are not mere "scrambles to get sync back" but rather, hours-long drop of stream.
And not when maintenance or updates are being performed: routinely loss of service.
If this thing is ~250 miles up with a line of sight extending into the thousands of miles, there wouldn't ever be a time without the ability to stream.
You continue to cough out 2 degrees.
You're basing that number on a person's position on the earth, not from Mr. Kitty's view of the earth while on the moon.
Put yourself in Mr. Kitty's artificial preserving suit, look up into the sky as depicted in that animation.
If you come back with 2 degrees again, it only shows you refuse to consider the evidence before you.
Last chance, cowboy.

If you don't agree with that, show me your refutation, not just scoffing words. ANYONE can just scoff at scientific concepts. It takes an educated person to scoff with something more in the line of evidence for the POV you tout.
Show me YOUR math or GTFO.
It is obvious you want people to fall over and play dead, fall into your fantasy,
That is not going to happen, today, next year, a thousand years from now.
Sooner or later you and you kind will be gone and the world will be much better off without you.
When people go into space as tourists and several companies are working on that right now, when one of them goes into a polar orbit and takes pictures of all of Antarctica you entire house of cards falls over flat on the ground flatter than your flatasssearth.

I know I said last chance already, but I'll give you one more shot... just because I like you so much.
Imagine an earth (EA) and its moon (MA) the same size as ours, but instead of hundreds of thousands of miles apart, they're only 10,000 miles apart.
Now put the exact same set up--- earth (EB) and moon (MB), 10,000 miles apart--- 234,000 miles away and stand on EA.
From EA, MA covers the side facing it.
However, when looking at MB, let's say that moon only takes up, say, two degrees of the sky.
With EB only 10,000 miles away from it, does EB appear to be the same size as MB for you?
Does MB cover up the same amount of sky--- two degrees--- as EB, which is three times larger in diameter?
Or does EB look three times bigger than MB?

Of course such understanding wouldn't do any good because you would just scoff it all off as usual. Like the magnetic field of Earth, you have no answer for that because your flatasssbuddies would have no answer for that so you have no google search that will help. You have to do that on your own since that is MY objection and nobody else ever came up with that one, no cut and paste will find it since you heard it first here. Good luck refuting THAT one. Of course you won't, you will just ignore it like all the rest of my analysis but we already knew that, your MO.
Good night, sweet prince.
Figured you'd run and hide like before.
You didn't disappoint.
Do some real work in the line of refutation if you want creds from us here or anyone else outside your flatasssbro's and when you actually have something, come back and I will be happy to destroy it.

Originally posted by FreakyKBHIf you had actually had the reading comprehension to understand what I said, the moon is about 30% smaller so it shows about 1/2 degree from Earth but Earth would show about 2 degrees as seen from the moon.

But I don't feel in the slightest bit threatened, josephw. Don't you get what's been going on? Indeed, I find FreakyKBH's dark mutterings about the "physical reality" of his prowess and inclination to resort to physical violence - on an internet message board - to be utterly laughable. You should go back and read his posts.
But I do! You have generated a fallacious representation of the entire exchange because you have an inate fear of getting your ars whipped. 😉
Freaky hasn't actually threatened you with a beating at all. I think what he was driving at is that in real life, as apposed to this environment, you would not conduct yourself as you do here because in real life you would indeed get "beat up" for it.
Get it?
Originally posted by josephwOf course he has. And he has done it before. I talk to people here just as I do in 'real life'. When he said "I promised I'd mop the floor with your worthless ass if you were to make the same suggestion in person, this is a normal and expected outcome to your douche baggery; it's exactly what one would predict would happen in real life" and "I don't wish you personal and physical harm: I guarantee you personal and physical harm", I responded with "Oh dear, somebody on the internet threatening to beat up somebody else on the internet" and he told me "You shut your trap or you're next." How laughable.
More of his twaddle which he seems to think applies to both me and Kegge: "I don't threaten from afar, numbnuts. I promise. As in, "I promise" that if you were ever to verbalize to my face what your coward ass said over the internet, I'd take whatever style clogs you're wearing and place them in the orifice causing the least amount of pleasure."
Here's more: "I've already offered where I live, the rest is up to you. We both know--- we all know--- you are a frightened little man/boy/adolescent girl without the courage of your own convictions. You incite because you are impotent in other areas of your life. By all means: come to Cleveland, shhh-head. Let me knock some dignity into your pusillanimous existence." What ludicrous stuff. There's more on page 43 and 44 of the Flat Earth thread.
This kind of stuff entertains both you and me, but for very different reasons. You may be impressed by the words he types and perhaps also the 100,000,000 "ex-US Marine Sergeants" ~ and you'd better believe it pal ~ and karate black belts out there oozing threats of physical violence into internet chat rooms from their teenage bedrooms and suburban bedsits because of their frustration, anger and the perceived slights of others. I just find it daft and funny. 😀
