I obviously have my doubts about the entire contents of the bible, especially the character given to God of the OT.
So? What's the matter with not being a Christian? There is no obligation to be one. You could join any religion. Or be a deist. Or be agnostic. Or atheist. You've spent years here talking about the don't really believe the contents of the Bible. What compels you to persist with asking this small group of Christians here the same questions over and over and over and over again? If they believe something and you don't believe it, what of it?

The bible does itself NO favors by telling a story involving a talking snake and forbidden fruit.
Then why bother with it?

If "truth" exists about what Adam and Eve 'really' did to aggravate God, then that's what should have been in Genesis, to give the story credibility.
If you don't find the story credible, why is of concern to you?

The post that I made above, in which you replied to, was a statement....not a question.

I ask questions, but also give my opinions.

If you have a problem with my posting style, then don't engage me.

What is your problem???

You are a proclaimed atheist, who does nothing but ask questions of the Christians on this site....at nauseum.

Mind your own business!!!

I make observations and ask them questions about the moral basis and implications of some of their beliefs.

I am asking you why you feel obliged to declare that you don't believe things that you are simply not obliged to believe. It isn't a "problem".

What's the matter with not being a Christian if there is no moral imperative for you to be one and if you don't find Christian theology credible?

You misunderstand my position.

I seem to want to believe what the bible says, but it's getting more difficult.

My questions to others is an attempt to figure out why they believe what they believe, in order to help me sort out my unbeliefs.

Unlike yourself, I'm still struggling, but haven't given up quite yet.

You don’t “seem to want to believe what the bible says” at all, far from it.

And your questions are not “an attempt to figure out why they (Christians here) believe what they believe.

Your come across in this forum as a snarky unintelligent petulant juvenile.

If, as you point out, it's not credible, why do you "want" to believe it?

But you aren't a Christian and never have been, right? I was a Christian for most of my adult life and enjoyed its psychological and communal benefits. I didn't "struggle" with my loss of faith and I don't "struggle" now. What compels you to "struggle" to believe something you don't believe?

But didn't they tell you "what they believe" on the 5 or 7 or 10 previous occasions you asked them?

Many Christians do not take such episodes in Genesis as literal occurrences. You can't just pin this on my atheism.
And? I was not pinning anything on Atheism I was talking to you about you!

The way you lurch from post to post demonstrates zero integrity and often zero consistency. You said "You actually disagree God is real do you not? So why should I be surprised events within scripture are denied by you, especially those that can only be true if God were true." With your retort, you are somehow not "pinning anything" on Ghost of a Duke's atheism? Seriously?
