James 4:4: "You adulterous people, don’t you know that friendship with the world means enmity against God? Therefore, anyone who chooses to be a friend of the world becomes an enemy of God."

Perhaps you can avoid being seen as being passive aggressive ~ or lacking in the courage necessary for proper discourse ~ in simply typing "James 4:4", and, instead, explain how you think the words in that verse apply to divegeester.

It might be interesting - you may have some worthy point to make, perhaps - or you may be putting your Bible to some tawdry use in attempting to deliver some holier-than-thou cheap shot on a message board - either way, if you explain what you meant by it, it might be interesting.

What does your God figure have to do with what we are talking about here? Have you actually read any of the posts that were in the exchange that you suddenly intervened in?

Well, I dunno.

Peruse this:

Don't you see any hypocrisy in yourself for not tackling "the same few posters who hope to dominate and belittle the others, prove that they are right, and disintegrate every decent thread" when... what? Ah yes... when they are defending [in their own peculiarly raw and abusive way] Grampy Bobby?

So it's okay for you to misrepresent what Landisqueen posted - and doing so in a message addressed to her? You twist her meaning to fit your own false narrative AND you sneer at her for choosing to defend him against that false narrative. She "let it pass", and you got away with doing it.

I think the meaning is fairly self-explanatory. Don't ask Joseph to be your Sunday school teacher after you reject the concepts.

I don't think I twisted her meaning at all. I think I understood it very well and then engaged it. I also understand very well that you do not agree.

I have asked josephw to explain because I don't think him typing "James 4:4" - in reply to the specific post that he did - is self-explanatory.

There is that side of me FMF you'd really not want to know.

I'm not passive aggressive ~ or lacking in the courage necessary for any kind of discourse ~ after all, I am here discoursing aren't I? And as far as what I meant by referencing James 4:4 I'll leave that to divegeester to figure out.

Yes, it would be interesting, but since you are so obviously prejudiced against my "God figure" I'll pass on getting bogged down in the quagmire about it with you. Besides, the meaning is as plain as the nose on your face.

You know it's true, so quit with the obfuscation.

Huh? I know what is "true"? You've just refused point blank to explain even what you yourself think is "true" about "James 4:4" and divegeester.

It should be self-explanatory to divegeester. After all he claims to be a Christian.

But you claim to be an unchristian, so perhaps your understanding of the verse has lapsed. πŸ˜‰

Go on then, if its meaning is so plain, it should be easy for you to explain. I am leaning toward the 'tawdry attempt to deliver a forum cheap shot using the holy Bible' explanation of your reference to the verse. Maybe with a little courage, you could show me how your scriptural reference has some merit that I can respect (even if I don't subscribe to it). Go for it. πŸ™‚

Are you going to hold me in contempt of court your honor? I'm not obliged to explain anything to you.

Come on FMF! I can't say it any plainer.

Just say how you think a verse about someone being "an enemy of God" applies to divegeester. If it would be self-explanatory to divegeester, perhaps it belonged in a PM. But you have aired your view in public and you have acquitted yourself rather furtively since then. πŸ˜‰

It means what it says FMF.
