I keep thinking about spanners, the ones with a ring at one end, but if it's not used in either woodwork or metalwork it can't be that. Thought about basketball rings and hand-held fans and ice cream scoops, but these have all been ruled out. I have a mental picture of a lollipop, but I don't know if the round bit is a disc or a sphere. We've passed the 20 mark and I have to admit defeat, I just don't have any idea at all.
