GoaD likes to toss around his purported "degree", but getting a degree alone never made anyone an authority on anything.
There are a lot of people walking around with degrees that are pretty clueless about the subject in which they "earned" their degree.
Especially, it seems, the ones who keep bringing up their degree.
Usually, it's the ones without that degree who think that.
Go figure.

By and large, I find the words attributed to Jesus while He walked the Earth to be reasonably sound and reasonably coherent within themselves. What's more, I find much of what was attributed to Him to be remarkably deep and quite profound. As such, by and large, I find the words attributed to Jesus while He walked the Earth to be "true".
I don't share ...[text shortened]... many Christians - many of which are antithetical to what Jesus taught while He walked the Earth.

You believe that everyone who gets a degree is an authority on the subject in which they "earned" their degree?
If so, you'd be very wrong.
As a matter of curiosity, do you view Ghost as an authority on Christianity?

I try not to judge.
I'm also not familiar where Jesus told people to run out and judge others.
Aren't you one of the ones supposedly basing your behavior on what Jesus said?

I'm not of course an authority on Christianity, nor have i ever claimed to be. My degree was 20 years ago and although i maintain an interest in the subject, i've lost most of the in depth knowledge I once had. (Though it does lie in some dusty boxes in the cellar).
Believe I have brought up my theology degree 3 times in the last 18 months and it is invariably Chaney who mentions it, discombobulated as he is by an atheist choosing to study such a subject.
ThinkOfOne shares my lack of authority when it comes to Christianity, which of course is self evident.

When you see a photo of piles and piles of corpses in a Nazi concentration camp, where was God?
The usual response is that was man's free will, and takes God off the hook.
But, God says He loves us.
