@very-rusty saidSir, it would be incorrect for me to stop into these damn forums without saying I am glad to see that you are still at large, and that I hope you and yours are well.

The enormous fully-functioning cities in China that have no residents. What are the 50 ghost cities all about?

It's an interesting article. I have an interest in China -- perhaps I was Chinese in a former life? They have certainly had their own turbulent history as well as some great and respectable accomplishments: for instance, casting off foreign incursions and going from an agricultural to a high-tech society, and to increase literacy and decrease poverty for so many in such a short time.
Not that I'm a big fan of authoritarianism and top-down leadership, but when so many people in the USA seem to embrace being stupid, emotional, superstitious, easily swayed, dangerous mutts, I'd have to say I'm not a big fan of mob rule or corporate mesmerism either.
Sorry -- I digressed. ;-) Glad to see you are still alive and posting. :-)

Have you ever wondered why the British put milk in their tea? Clue: It's not to do with the taste.
If you really want to rock the boat, opt for a cream tea and in addition to raising the milk issue, ask a group of Brits whether you should put the cream or jam on your scone first...
