Assuming you can do your math correctly, if you joined the site at 1200 and due to study of chess books gained 100 points each year, what would your rating be today?

Math is your problem. You joined in 2008 so
1200 + 0 = 1200
The guy who joined in 2003 gives 5X100=500
1200 + 500 = 1700
Consider taking that flag down, it's been proven you're not from China.

Um, any need for name calling? You seem to have boiled all accusations down to their dumbest level where low rated players really don't have any chance of knowing if a player is cheating.
You're disregarding real situations where there is ample evidence to show a user is cheating... those are threads a moderator will remove if names are named and alerts are given (or not in some cases). The proper course of action is to use the new fair play feature (see site ideas).

If those cheater hunters sent feedback to the Forum Moderator instead of being paranoid on the forum, then that would leave time for chess to be discussed.

Day after day the topic of the "latest cheater" is introduced and early games of players rising up put on the forum. This looks like the chess equivalent of the Salem Witch trials if you are old enough to understand what those were.
