I never heard Lolita, but in 1960 I was just starting into folk music so I wasn't listening much to pop radio. More like Pete Seeger and Ledbelly were my goto folks back then and now for that matter.
I played in several acoustic bands and now that we can't get gigs I have been composing acoustic guitar and mandolin tunes on soundcloud, up to 130+ tracks there now, more than half my own compositions.
