I recently watched a documentary on King Arthur questioning whether he was real, or a myth.

Considering the English on this site, what do you think?

Here is an interesting read from Wikipedia - https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/King_Arthur - quoting many different sources about this king, some of which concluding that he was a myth rather than a historical figure.

I'm adding an article not quite as comprehensive http://www.biography.com/people/king-arthur-9190042.

Difficult to know for sure but certainly not real in the sense of the known lineage of kings and queens of England. He is probably mostly myth. Some say his castle was at Tintagel. Other say that dragons lived in the caves of the north Cornish coastline.

Perhaps you just have a rather big chip on your shoulder and it affects your perception of regular educated people? Just a thought. 😛

Most of the story was probably simply made up 600 years after he was supposed to have lived.

He might have been a bit like Robin Hood - perhaps an authentic figure who then developed into a hero and legend through ballads and books.
