I have received numerous PMs in the past few days from various users accusing all sorts of people of being cheats.
It seems to be a sign of the times.
Cheating accusations are rampant.
This is one of the reasons why we have to find some game mods that are trustworthy like GateCrasher, Tony, David, etc.
The site can't function without a reliable game mod team.
Classic example was TRACKHEAD21 who was popular but was not approved and later was banned for cheating.

Yeah I ran it through fritz 11 and didnt see anything, he matched up alot more than arrakis, but he's alot better. If arrakis is that worried about why doesnt he just challenge him to a 1 minute bullet on the blitz site here.

That answered several of my questions. I can manage several hours a week, should I be chosen.
I suspected that there was more to it than pure subtraction, and your explanation is quite clear.
I like to think of it as follows: In your 10 coin example, the probability of getting 10 heads is low at 0.1%. But repeat the exercise of tossing 10 coins often enough (i.e. a thousand times), and you start to expect to get the rare cases like all 10 heads. Or take 1000 people and ask them each to toss 10 coins. But let us not get carried away.
Cheers.

I have no sympathy to no1marauder due to his manners of polemics, BUT with his research skills and OTB experience he could be good game mod.
I think you've done good on that aspect. and I also admire how gatecrasher is able to hold his piece even when it's obvious that he knows more than he says. I don't have that kind of self-discipline.
Originally posted by KorchLet's set the record straight Korch. I sent the last game we played to a couple of people with the remarks that 100% of your moves match fritz. I did not say you were a cheater but that this was something that should be looked into.

There are some people who don't know how to set up fritz to check a person's games. In your case most of your moves matched fritz's 2nd choice while the others matched the first choice. I also sent the information to yourself along with the remark that one game does not mean a person is a cheater.

"I don't know if Korch is a cheater or not, but I do know that the last time I played him his moves matched fritz 100%!
I brought this to his attention and he became very upset with me. Why is it that when you show evidence of possible wrongdoing the person gets really upset? I challenged him in the forum and he gave me the information I wanted. He's not a master at all. He's a fide candidate master, which means he's an expert rated around 2169. Yet he beats masters here at RHP on a regular basis.
So why do people have this disillusion that if a player is good then he can't be a cheater? Cludi is an established master and better tha Korch yet it looks like he got caught.
I've fw'd this information to the proper people and it will be taken up by the NEW mod team."

the most ridiculous thing I've ever seen. you would've lost that game to a 1500.

I have a suggestion for any player who carries a high rating and is using that as one of his qualities for being a mod. An example is the arrogant post by Wormwood above. I suggest that people like this meet me in the blitz area and we'll see if they come close to their RHP rating. If a person can't perform in blitz chess in accordance with their rating, then their rating shouldn't be used in consideration for the mod position.

Russ,
You simply cannot put such an important position up for a popular vote. Most members claim they have NO IDEA what a cheater is or how to catch them.
I admire your flexability in the decision to renew the mod team, but let's do it right. Let's not put up a popular "vote" on it. Please change your stance for people interested to contact the site hat this team has to be made up of people based on their expertise and not a public vote.
EDIT: I vote for Mephisto.
